INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING THE AUDITION APPLICATION FOR THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY FAIR AND NATIONAL DATE FESTIVAL NIGHTLY MUSICAL (aka DATE PAGEANT)

TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION, YOU WILL CLICK THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE - BUT - PLEASE DO NOT DO SO UNTIL YOU HAVE READ EVERY WORD BELOW.

REMEMBER - ACTING IS ABOUT TAKING DIRECTION - THIS IS YOUR FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW US THAT YOU ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO DO SO PROPERLY

NOTE: Completing this application in advance will NOT give you automatic priority over others at the audition.  In general, people will still be brought in according to arrival order.  However, if people are stacked up in line completing the paperwork and you become ready to audition before them, you would be allowed to do so.

=> Please complete a single application for each person that is auditioning - do NOT try to combine multiple people onto one application.

=>Please complete ALL applicable fields as accurately as possible.

=> If you are completing more than one application (e.g., a family is auditioning) do NOT use shortcuts to get through them all.  In the system we use, putting "same as above" or "same as brother" or "same as last year", etc. has no meaning and will be considered incomplete.

=> Some fields are set as "required" and will not allow the form to be submitted if left blank.  Do not put in bad information to get around this.

=> Please use proper language and formatting to input your information - no "facebook/texting-like" abbreviations or other shortcuts.

=> Use proper capitalization for names, addresses and all other data.

=> Double check your information to ensure accuracy
- phone numbers have 10 digits (with area code) and should be in the format xxx-xxx-xxxx
- email addresses have the provider (e.g. @gmail.com)

=> "My Cell Phone" is for the actual auditioner's phone if they have one.  If you/they are a minor without a phone of your/their own, use a different  option to identify the number provided.  If you use the "other" option, make sure you make note of it in the comment section.

=> If a minor has a phone of their own, we still need to have phone numbers for the parents as well.

=> Minors should not complete this application without their parent's knowledge and consent, and without including parent's contact information on the form.

=> Ignoring conflicts benefits NO ONE.  You have been provided with enough information about the potential and likely rehearsal dates and times to identify current conflicts.
- One benefit of completing this application prior to the audition date is that you have the time to review your potential conflicts and include them on the form in the comment section.
- If you have too many conflicts, oddly timed conflicts, or conflicts too close to the show dates, you may want to contact us before wasting time filling out the form and auditioning.

=> There is no room for, nor need for, vanity in the Date Pageant.  Please provide your accurate birth date.  It will not be published to anyone.
Requested format = mm/dd/yyyy

=> Putting your height on the form helps us out more than you imagine when sorting and casting.  If you do not own a ruler, step into a 7-11, AM-PM, or Circle K and measure yourself using the ruler to the side of the exit door.  (See, now you have no excuses : ))
Requested format = x'y"  (e.g., 5'10" is 5 feet 10 inches)

=> Emergency contacts should not be repeats of the numbers already provided on the form - those numbers will be tried first always.  The emergency number should be an alternate person/number that can be called if we can't get through to the main numbers provided.

=> We have no desire to pry into family relationships, but due to past concerns regarding children of divorced parents, we do ask that you accurately identify the parental relationships of people involved in the minor's life.  If there are custody or other such issues. we will need to be made aware of them in the comments section.

=> Lastly, if you feel you have made a mistake on the form and need to complete a new one for the same person, please put a note in the comments section of the newest application that informs us to ignore the prior application - and make sure the newest application is complete (in other words, DO NOT just put corrected information for one item and expect us to reference back to the first application for other information).
- if you put a song/artist on the form and later decide to change to a different song/artist - you DO NOT need to complete a new application - just let us know at auditions what your new song is.

=> The assigned audition number field is set up as a required field for use at the auditions to ensure that our staff puts identifying numbers in place.  IF YOU ARE FILLING OUT THE FORM BEFORE AUDITIONS, INSERT THE NUMBER 0 INTO THIS FIELD.  Then, when you audition, have them write the number assigned to you on the form.

Thank you for auditioning for the Nightly Musical!
