NOTES: Our cast does not include any two people with the exact same first name. There should not be any confusion about the names in the script or the rehearsal schedule - if it's your name spelled your way it is you.
Please begin to pay attention to where you may have different characters that may require costume changes and the like so that you can help us to be certain that you will have time to change.
Remember, everyone is now expected to be completely off book for the scenes being rehearsed each weekend.
If you, or any other cast member you know, has decided not to participate in the pageant, please e-mail us, or have them e-mail us, to let us know so that we may reassign your parts.

ARCHIVE OF 1/17 UPDATE SUBJECTS : Tardiness, Preparedness, Link to Music Tracks, Music Rehearsals
Please adjust your personal schedules in whatever way you need to in order to be at rehearsals and ready to begin by your call time (yes, even the first call time of the day). Call times are supposed to be the time that the director can start, not the time for you to arrive. Typically, to be on time you should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the call time so that you can put your personal stuff away, sign in, say hello to whomever you like and warm up (either physically or mentally).
Please pay close attention to ALL of the information posted on this site (read it carefully). In particular, the note regarding rehearsals below asked for the cast to be sure to check if they are in a scene but don't appear to be called. Some people have left rehearsals before their scenes were complete.
The script was first posted on November 14 - more than 8 weeks ago - with instructions that everyone would be asked to be substantially off book on January 7 and completely off book by the time each specific scene is rehearsed after that date. This is a critically-timed show and the work must be put in for it to be one that is worth the audience's time to watch. Please honor your commitments and come to rehearsals prepared! This includes knowing the songs that you have been offered to sing.
The link that Paul had provided to the site where cast members can access the musical tracks is now provided below (underneath the rehearsal schedule and script links at the bottom of the page).
ALL VOLUNTEERS who planned to help during the production preparation phase (sewing costumes, putting together props and sets, etc.) should start coming this weekend if they expect to receive passes or tickets to the fair and have not yet come to help. Otherwise, they should be contacting us at datepageant@aol.com to let us know their intention to fulfill requirements sufficient to get a badge or tickets.
ARCHIVE NOTES FROM 1/11 UPDATE
The Rehearsal Schedule can be downloaded and printed using the link below (bottom of page after Script link). PLEASE NOTE: I have made every effort to be complete and accurate with respect to the schedule. If there is a scene that you feel certain you are in and your name does not appear with that scene (or as an exception to that scene), please err on the side of contacting us to be sure or coming to the rehearsal. Also, if times seem odd or wrong days are included, etc., please bring them to my attention. Of course, we reserve the right to make changes to the schedule as may be necessary to ensure the quality of the production.
LUNCH NOTE: On days where different groups start at different times, there may not be an official lunch break. Please eat before or after your call time accordingly. Remember, too, that even when a break may be called, there will likely not be time to exit the grounds to eat, please bring your food or arrange for it to be delivered. There is a restaurant close by that has said they will deliver to the stage if desired. Menus are provided in the make-up area for those that are interested. We will have a microwave oven this weekend and a refrigerator either this weekend or next that will be available for the cast to use during rehearsals and through the run of the show.
SUBJECTS FOR THIS UPDATE : Volunteers Needed, Costume Request, Plastic Containers, Finale Song, Preparation
VOLUNTEERS: We need all volunteers who said they would help with pre-show work to please start coming to rehearsals to help the various departments. There is a lot of work that still needs to be done for the show (which is just three weeks away). If you are reading this and are related to or friends with a volunteer, please give them a call to make sure they get this information. Even if you/they did not previously sign up as a volunteer, come on down! We have work for everyone to do as early as 9:30 in the morning.
COSTUMES: The costume department has been hard at work getting the costumes together for the entire cast. They are at the point where they need to get everyone into costume pieces and see what needs to be done to fit them. To help this cause while disrupting rehearsals minimally, we are asking anyone who is called later in the day on Saturday to please come earlier so that they can get this done before their rehearsals start. Those who are called at the beginning of the day can come as early as 9:30 to hopefully get their fitting work complete before their call time.
PLASTIC CONTAINERS: Our set painting crew is in need of all empty plastic containers they can get (like sour cream, butter, cottage cheese, similar deli containers and the like). Please make sure they are washed out thoroughly and bring them to the fairgrounds. We need them to mix paint. All sizes are helpful, with lids is preferred, but without is o.k., too.
FINALE SONG: We may switch the finale song to "You Can't Stop The Beat" ala Hairspray. Please try to become familiar with this song for this weekend's rehearsals.
PREPARATION: This weekend we will be putting the entire show together and starting to do full run through rehearsals. Please review all of your scenes (including cue lines, blocking notes, etc.) to be fully prepared for this on Sunday.
